Datachain released IBC Module for Hyperledger Besu, which enables interoperability between blockchains without placing trust in intermediaries.
May 18, 2021
Datachain, Inc. (Datachain) has been conducting research and development on blockchain interoperability for enterprises, and has been working on various solutions and demonstrations.
Under these circumstances, Datachain has released IBC Module for Hyperledger Besu that enables interoperability between different blockchains using IBC in the enterprise Ethereum client "Hyperledger Besu".
This will allow, for example, projects such as digital currency, NFT, STO, and local currency built with Hyperledger Besu to communicate with different blockchains.
Datachain will continue to work towards the realization of a world where various blockchains and existing systems are interoperable.
Based on the mission of "Build the future of data connectivity", Datachain has been conducting research and development mainly in the area of interoperability, aiming to realize a world where various blockchains and existing systems can be interconnected.
As part of this effort, we have released IBC Module for Hyperledger Besu as an OSS module to connect the enterprise Ethereum client "Hyperledger Besu" with other blockchain platforms using IBC(*1). IBC Module for Hyperledger Besu enables the systems built on Hyperledger Besu to achieve interoperability with other blockchains (e.g., Hyperledger Fabric).
IBC Module for Hyperledger Besu is currently available under the Apache 2.0 license, and Datachain has some projects which are going to use the module.

With the IBC-Solidity module, which is one of the main components of IBC Module for Hyperledger Besu, it is possible to support not only Hyperledger Besu but also "Quorum", which is also used worldwide as an enterprise Ethereum client.
We are planning to talk about IBC Module for Hyperledger Besu in a session at the Hyperledger Global Forum 2021 in June 2021.
